Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

By using our services, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined in this document. Please read these terms carefully before using our services.

‘MendMaster’ is a trading name of Oliver Taylor, a sole trader.

This terms and conditions document is dated: 11/04/2024

2. Services Provided

MendMaster offers professional computer repair and maintenance services, including but not limited to hardware repairs, software troubleshooting, virus removal, purchasing advice, data recovery, and system optimization.

3. Service Charges

We charge a competitive fee for our services, which will be communicated to you before the commencement of any repair work. Additional charges may apply for parts replacement or extensive repair work, which will also be disclosed beforehand.

Our purchasing advice service is a flat fee of £10.

4. Service Warranty

We provide a 30-day warranty on all repair services performed by our technicians. This warranty covers the specific issue(s) addressed during the repair. Any new issues arising after the repair may incur additional charges.

5. Customer Responsibilities

It is the customer’s responsibility to provide accurate information about the computer’s issues and any relevant history, including previous repairs or modifications. Failure to disclose such information may affect the repair process and could void the warranty.

6. Data Protection and Privacy

We respect your privacy and will handle your personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

7. Liability

While we strive to provide the highest quality service, MendMaster cannot be held liable for any unforeseen damages or losses resulting from the repair process, including but not limited to data loss, hardware malfunctions, software issues, losses as a result of the repair, future losses related to the repair or any other liability due to our services.

Our liability is limited to the cost of the repair service provided.

8. Termination of Service

We reserve the right to refuse service or terminate service at any time if we determine that the repair work is not feasible or if there is a risk of further damage to the computer system.

When a repair is not possible and you have used our click and collect service, we may still charge to complete the process and for time spent on diagnostics.

9. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to Terms

MendMaster reserves the right to modify or amend these terms of service at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website or other communication channels.

11. Specific Terms for Purchasing Advice Service.

We will endear to suggest the best purchase at the time for your described needs.
When a product is put forwards to you, we will describe why it is best to fit your needs. We do not earn any commission from retailers that we refer you to. Our advice is only our opinion, and may differ from others or your own.

We charge £10 for this service, to be invoiced after we have provided you with the advice.

11. Outsourcing Mobile Phone Repairs

In some cases, MendMaster may outsource mobile phone, tablet, or other hardware repairs to trusted third-party technicians or service providers. While we carefully select our partners and ensure they meet our standards of quality and professionalism, MendMaster cannot be held liable for any damages or issues arising from repairs conducted by third parties. However, we will facilitate communication between you and the third-party provider to address any concerns or issues that may arise during the repair process.

12. Collect and Return Service

MendMaster offers a convenient collect and return service for customers unable to bring their devices to our repair centre. This service is subject to availability and may incur additional charges depending on the distance and logistics involved.

When scheduling a collect and return service, please ensure that someone is available to hand over the device to our technician at the agreed-upon time. Likewise, someone must be present to receive the repaired device upon its return. Failure to do so may result in rescheduling and additional charges.

While we take utmost care in handling and transporting your device, MendMaster cannot be held liable for any damages or losses that occur during transit. We recommend backing up important data before handing over your device for repair.

13. Invoice Payment

Payment for our services is due upon completion of the repair work, unless otherwise agreed upon in advance. We accept various forms of payment, including cash, credit/debit cards, and bank transfers. An invoice will be provided detailing the services rendered and the total amount due. Failure to settle the invoice within the specified timeframe on the invoice may result in refusal of future business and as a last resort, referral to a debt collection service.
